When it’s hot outside, the last thing you want to do is fire up the oven. Here are 4 no-bake desserts to satisfying your sweet tooth and help you stay cool this summer.
Banana pudding is a staple at Southern potlucks, but this parfait takes it to the next level. You’ll need prepared instant vanilla pudding, a tub of whipped topping, a box of Nilla Wafers, and (duh) a couple of bananas.
Fold the pudding into the whipped topping to create a light, creamy mousse. Then layer Nilla Wafers, sliced bananas, and pudding in a container with an air-tight lid. Pop the whole thing in the fridge for at least 6 hours so that the flavors come together and the cookies get soft. Delish!
Baby, it’s hot outside. You deserve a popsicle–preferably one with caffeine in it. You’ll need a tub of whipped topping, prepared vanilla pudding, 4 tablespoons of instant coffee powder, and chocolate Magic Shell.
Add the coffee granules to the pudding and stir-stir-stir. Then fold in the whipped topping. Fill up a popsicle mold–or, if you don’t have one handy, just use small waxed paper cups and popsicle sticks. Let those bad boys freeze overnight.
For an extra layer of deliciousness, dip the popsicles in Magic Shell. We were feeling classic chocolate, but you could also try vanilla or even caramel.
This classic “icebox pie” is easy and refreshing–perfect for a summer cookout. Or to eat while binge-watching Netflix on the couch. I’m not here to judge you.
The recipe is similar to the Banana Pudding Parfait. For this one, you’ll need prepared lemon pudding, a tub of whipped topping, a box of graham crackers, and a cup of lemon curd. Mix the pudding and whipped topping, then layer graham crackers, lemon curd, and mousse in a shallow dish. End with a layer of whipped topping.
This one tastes best if you let it set up overnight. For extra classiness, throw a handful of fresh berries on top of each slice when you serve up this pie.
Combining the power of strawberry cheesecake with the beautiful simplicity of a jalapeno popper, these sweet berry treats are addictive.
You’ll need 2 pounds of strawberries, an 8 oz package of cream cheese, and half a cup of powdered sugar. You can also add half a teaspoon of vanilla extract to your “cheesecake” mixture. You’ll also need about half a cup of crushed graham crackers.
Hollow out the strawberries with a small knife–and save the innards for smoothies. Then mix the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla. Pipe the mixture into each strawberry, filling it generously, then sprinkle or dip with graham cracker crumbs.
Keep these guys refrigerated until just before you plan to eat them.
